US blocks entry of Mexicans for “facilitating illegal immigration to US”

(MENAFN) several individuals in Mexico accused of "knowingly facilitating illegal immigration to the United States," according to a statement released Wednesday.

The measures target executives and senior figures at a transportation firm based in Mexico who, as reported, knowingly provided travel services primarily intended for people planning to cross into the US unlawfully.

Investigations concluded that these individuals coordinated travel for migrants — including minors — from parts of the Caribbean and other regions to transit hubs in Central America, "where many were later encountered attempting to enter the United States illegally."

The State Department said it is revoking their visas and implementing further restrictions to bar them from entering the country, cautioning: "The United States will not tolerate any attempts to undermine our national security or immigration laws."

Officials emphasized that those who "profit from illegal immigration" will face repercussions and reiterated that the US will intensify efforts against smuggling networks in order to safeguard its borders.
